Nourish - Breakfast: Overnight Oats and Chia
The milk can be any nut milk of your choice and sweetened if you like with some honey or syrup.
Here our overnight oats and chia is served with seasonal fresh fruits which were added just before serving, but they can be added from the start if you like them well blended.
This breakfast is so versatile and is a healthy, refreshing start to the day.
Serve them in smaller portions for reluctant children; they will love them in pots, layered with colourful fruits and drizzled with honey and nuts.
- Measure and mix the ingredients into a jar or bowl and cover
- Leave them overnight in the fridge
- The next morning, stir the mixture and add flavourings or fruits of your choice
- TIP: Home-made almond milk works particularly well with this recipe
Chia seeds are an easy way to add fibre and Omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. They are also a great source of calcium and iron.
Oats are incredibly nutritious. It’s a great source of fibre in the morning, to help get your gut going for the day. They are also a good source of iron and B vitamins.
