Summer Health Protocol


There’s nothing worse than waiting for summer to come for longer days, more sunshine and warmer weather – only to be hit with a cold, flu or to be feeling run down.

Here are a few good supplements to consider for the summer to keep yourself at optimum health:

  • Multivitamins – Multi’s are good for all year-round support for overall energy and wellbeing support. They could provide additional antioxidants to support skin health and overall immunity.
  • Probiotic – Probiotics may support gut health, immunity and digestion health. They could be good for travelling, if you’re eating out more, or eating more foods that you’re not used to.
  • Reishi – Reishi is rich in beta glucans, prebiotic action, a source of ganoderic acid which may support anti-histamine action. Reishi can also be helpful for those with sleeping difficulty or experiencing high stress level. This makes it a great addition for exam support at this time.
  • Diet and lifestyle – Ensure to eat a wholefoods diet. Also for summer, a diet with fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut or miso is good for the gut. Getting plenty of sleep and rest for overall health will definitely be beneifical.

Other options to consider:

  • Vitamin C – Vitamin C can be a good support for skin health (collagen production and antioxidants), and immunity health for the summer.
  • Vitamin D – If the weather takes a turn or you’re just not able to head out as much as you’d like, you might not be getting as much vitamin D needed. Sunlight is the best source of vitamin D. So if you’re not getting enough, ensure taking a vitamin D supplement to support your overall health and immunity focus. Make sure to always wear SPF too. Even if the days are cloudy or you’re not out for long, SPF is crucial for the protection of your skin.
